The Noble County Commissioners received positive reports recently on improvement projects going on in and around the Happy Time Pool area at the Noble County Fairgrounds. Clay Conaway, the new village administrator for the Village of Caldwell, constructed a bicycle rack and donated it to the pool. “I started the project when I was employed in the maintenance department at Noble Correctional Institution,” Conaway stated. “I employed the help of two inmates. We did all the welding and used DTM (direct to metal) paint so it should last for many years.” Next to the pool, workers are filling in areas at the basketball and tennis/pickle ball courts in preparation for the sealant coat of black paint to be applied. The courts are scheduled to be painted next week. Misty Wells, executive director of the Noble County Department of Job and Family Services, gave her monthly report to the Commissioners. She emphasized the need for foster parents in Noble County. “I took custody of two children this week and we’re looking for temporary assistance.” The Commissioners met with representatives from Keystone and KBA Insurance. They consult with the county on their health insurance program. Mickie Range, Joe Turk, and Deb Gowen of Key Benefits told the Commissioners they are “on track “for a balanced budget.
